Review: Pilot Hi-Tec-C Mandarin Orange 0.3mm

The shade of orange this Pilot Hi-Tec-C Mandarin Orange lays down is awesome!  It is a very strong and sharp color, which I am getting a lot of use out of.  And it looks like the 0.3mm Hi-Tec-C's are my sweet spot - the perfect combination of line thickness and performance.

I did this review on Doane Paper, as opposed to the Moleskine Reporter notebook paper, which most of my past reviews are done on.  The Doane Paper is much smoother, and I have more room to do a few different things with the reviews.  I need to work on the lighting in my photographs a bit, but otherwise, I like it a lot, and I am thinking about doing the majority of my reviews on Doane Paper going forward.  What do you other pen addicts think about the possible new format?

I like it! Variety is the spice of life, right?

I like it too - visually more attractive!

I like the Doane (sp) paper. I am actually quite curious as to how pens work on different types of paper. When I do my reviews of my pens I have been doing them on Moleskine quadruled, and if they seem promising I take them to work (mwahahaha)...
I need some of that paper, though.

The Doane paper is nice! I like the mandarin orange color as well. So far I've only tried the 0.4mm. I don't want to go too skinny!

Ok good - I like it better as well.

MAriko - I went with the 0.4mm first and loved them, went to 0.25mm next which was nice, but too small, and finally went with the 0.3mm last, which I am liking the most.

Can you post a picture of the pen with the cap off... I am curious as to how the tip looks... Thanks for the reviews!

Love it!

I like the Doane paper. I don't mind which paper you write on, its easier to read on the moleskine though, because theres no background lines.

Oh and I like that colour of mandarin orange. I'm not happy with the colour of mandarin orange in the Signo .18mm, its not dark enough to be mandarin orange in my books. The regular orange ones seem to be darker than the mandarin orange.

Oh well!

Laura - I'll get you some of my own pics soon, but in the meantime, here is one you can check out: Pilot Hi-Tec-C at JetPens.

Kata - Readability was the one thing I was worried about with all of the lines. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I'm a huge nerd and loved the idea that you would be able to fill a whole Moleskine notebook with reviews. I'm a tad bit addicted to stationery products. And pens. And paper. Luckily for me, paper grows on trees.

You do what you want. It's your blog, afterall.

I can't seem to buy any more of the Doane paper. Is he out of stock?

slyck - 2 or 3 weeks ago he was, but he mentioned he was stocking back up. I'll check with him and let you know.

Ok - i spoke with Chad Doane, and his vendor was hit hard by hurricane Ike, so his restocking is in a bit of a holding pattern. I'll give an update once things gets squared away.
