Review: Pilot Hi-Tec-C 0.4mm Black

I love how this pen writes, but I'm not the biggest fan of the barrel design. The size and weight of the pen are very good, but the cap is difficult to get off, and then barely stays on the end of the pen when I am writing. It has a tendency to spin around a bit, making me prefer the Coleto barrel when writing with the Hi-Tec-C.

There is a fundamental problem within Pilot Hi-Tec-C... I partly agree with the Barrel design but there is one more.

If you drop this pen too often, this is the end of the pen. Every pen is different and you have to chose its Gel level at the top... The Gel has the function to push the ink down and to produce that continous ink flow. I have had many experience of ink flow discontinuation after "over-dropping"

Over here in the Philippines they call this pen the G-Tec and sell refills for it. I was wondering if the cartridge for the standard Hi-Tec-C will fit in a Hi-Tec-C Cavalier Executive body. It's cheaper to buy refills here than over in Japan. I appreciate your help again.

I don't have a Cavalier, so I can't say for sure. I see that at JetPens, the Cavalier refills are marked Cavalier on the package, and obviously the regular ones aren't, so I am not sure if there is a difference.
